Misprints: A Print Poetry Workshop
In this Print Poetry workshop, join Becca Drake - poet and founder of York-based micro-press Little Hirundine - to rummage through the archive of misprints from Little Hirundine projects and to write exciting new poetry using wasted words. What do we do with the words we cut out of our writing? How can we repurpose our mistakes and misprints? This is a workshop for anyone interested in experimental poetics, visual poetry and collage, or for anyone who wants to meet fellow creatives and have some messy fun with words!
Print Poetry: Pocket Books!
In this workshop from Little Hirundine Books, Poetry & Print, join poet and printer Becca Drake to explore the landscape of the pocket book. How does limiting the space of the page - by making it very small - shape our writing in unexpected ways? You will begin by binding a miniature single section pamphlet, using craft bookmaking techniques, before filling this with poetry, led in experimental poetics exercises by Becca. All material provided, and no writing experience is needed. This workshop is all about having fun and getting stuck in!

Print Poetry at Spark
In this workshop, join poet and printmaker Becca Drake in making your own January book to take away and cherish throughout the winter months. A January book is a book for the new year. It is a small and thoughtful thing, a pocket-sized book object, and a little touchstone of quiet. At the beginning of the workshop, you will choose from one of two themes: darkness, and light. You will get to print your chosen theme on the front of your blank book, using an Adana tabletop press. For the rest of the workshop, you will fill your book with darkness or light, using a mixture of writing by hand, relief print, and collage. Becca will guide you with experimental poetry exercises, fresh from the press! No poetry experience is needed. This is a hands-on workshop – expect ink, mess, and fun.
